3d Printing Education

3D-PT can work with you to provide a full range of 3D education services. Currently 3D-PT currently offers the following courses at Wings Museum, and can bring them to your organization.

All classes are recommended for anyone over 10 years old.

Basics of 3D Printing

Description: In this class, students will use TinkerCAD to design a basic fidget, and walk through the process to design and 3D print a simple item. ** Due to time constraints, we may not be able to 3D print an item, but you can take your file to any public library to 3D print. **

Required Materials: Each student needs to bring a laptop computer with internet access.

Advanced 3D Printing

Description: In this class, students will learn advanced 3D printing methods and requirements. They will also learn about different 3D printing materials. In the second half of the class we will use TinkerCAD to produce a 3D printable object that can work with a standard Mason Jar. In this activity, the students produce a 3D printable file that incorporates the ubiquitous Mason jar with a 3D printable attachment.

** Due to time constraints, we may not be able to 3D print an item, but you can take your file to any public library to 3D print. **

Required Materials: Each student needs to bring a laptop computer with internet access. Mason Jars are provided. TinkerCAD or other CAD access.

Accessibility Through 3D Printing

Description : In this class, you will look at issues facing people with

disabilities in the world. Taking this knowledge forward, they will develop a 3D printable device or set of devices for people in need. We will explore the eNable prosthetic hand and may build one for a person in need. ** Due to time constraints, we may not be able to 3D print an item, but you can take your file to any public library to 3D print. **

Required Materials: Each student needs to bring a laptop computer with internet access. Optional Materials; hand tools, item to adapt to a person with a disability.

3D Molding and Casting

Description:  In this class the students will design a mold for a basic household item. They will practice casting a 3D printed mold in fine cement or plaster in class. At the end of the class they will take a pre 3D printed mold home with the material to cast it at home.

Required Materials: Each student needs to bring a laptop computer with internet access. TinkerCAD access Optional materials: putty knife, craft sticks, nitryl or food gloves.

3D Consultation

If you would like to add 3D printers to your business or maker space, 3D-PT can work with you. 3D-PT can consult with you to meet your unique needs.

Autism Presentation / Consultation

Stan of 3D-PT can give a custom presentation to your business, school or organization. He can also consult with your organization about Autism related issues.

Autism Presentation / Consultation

If your a school or business that wants to know more about Autism, what better way then to ask someone on the spectrum.

Stan of 3D-PT was diagnosed late in high school with Non-verbal Learning Disorder, which is now on the Autism spectrum. Sense his diagnosis he has gone on to get a M.A. degree in Education, teach science for 10 years, and found 3D-PT
